What's our best team for the next 3 games ?
Obviously Pellegrinni doesn't have a clue judging by the fact that he's not picked the same one twice ... here's mine looking at the next 3 fixtures which we need the minimum of one poxy point from ... starting with 3 at the back with Cresswell on left side , Arthur and Fredericks the wing backs , Declan holding midfielder over Sanchez and Anderson playing in the hole behind Yarmalenko and Arnautovic as he's never a left winger as shown so far in matches , he can't even beat the first man... still not convinced that Fredericks is any upgrade on Zaba at right back,or that Wilshire is any better than Noble , poor Jack looks shot to pieces already at 26... also if Anderson was £42m what would a fit Lanzini have been worth to us ?? He's twice the player Anderson is. But picking a first eleven out of the imbalanced squad that we have to grind out a result this would be mine in a 3-4-1-2 formation ;

Fabianski
Fredericks - hanging by a thread over Zaba after Wolves
Cresswell
Diop
Ogbonna
Rice
Masuaku
Anderson
Yarmalenko
Arnautovic
Wiltshire - also last chance unless we see improvement , otherwise drop for Obiang

Probably Pelli wlll start with Antonio and Snodgrass who showed again yesterday that they are Championship standard quality , its blindingly obvious they ain't good enough.

Re: What's our best team for the next 3 games ?
I think every one of our new signings will go on to have a good season, with most becoming important first team players. However, current problems are due to a lack of chemistry and understanding, especially in critical creative situations. It is for these reasons my team is as follow

---------------------Fab Fab-------------------
Fredeeicks Zab Diop Oggy Cress
--------Sanchez--Rice--Obiang-------
---------Arnautovic-Hernandez--------

I actually believe Arnie is the perfect lone front man, but i see Hernandez playing better than any of our new forwards at this moment in time.
I think Anderson, given his ability, can concentrate on having a good 30 minute spell off the bench.
I really like Balbuena but he's trying to do too much and will make a big mistake soon. I actually see him as a perfect DM for the premier league as he reads the game very well and is confident on the ball.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Pérez given a run out up front. Not that I’ve really seen much of him but at least he is a natural forward.
Fcuk knows really but it’s not really working up too for us at the moment
Playing Arnie out wide maybe where he can run at people.

Zabaletta Balbuena Diop Rice
Sanchez Obiang
Yarmalenko Andersen Masuaku
Arnautovich

I wouldn't have Cresswell in any team he has been a liability for the past three years and is route 1 for every visiting team. Rice played there in an emergency last year and was better than anybody else who filled the berth. Obiang was the.most successful tackler in the league a couple of seasons ago but was limited last year by injury

No one has a clue, there is no best team when you might and it very much looks like it have gone and brought all the wrong players, or the wrong manager????.

Re: What's our best team for the next 3 games ?
FWIW, I would go something like this:

Fabianski
Fredericks Balbuena Diop Cresswell
Rice Sanchez
Yarmolenko Anderson Massuaku
Arnautovic

Fullback is still a problem, but I would give Fredericks a few games. Cresswell would benefit by having Massuaku in front of him. In central midfield, I think Rice has shown that he has most to offer so far. I would pair him up with Sanchez who gives a bit more height and strength.

Further forward, it is time to give Yarmolenko a start. I see him hopefully combining and switching with Anderson and Massuaku. Arnie is still our best option up front.

This formation could also switch to 3 at the back when needed. We need to have the ability to change formations during a match, but I’m not sure the manager will play any other way.

Re: What's our best team for the next 3 games ?
I should have said, I think our biggest problem against Wolves was we were too slow and pushed their 2 lines of defense (backs and midfield) back and were unable to get through or round (to slow to get behind) as our players were not up to the task.

Re: What's our best team for the next 3 games ?
But most of you are putting another body in a defensive position.

I guess you all hope the defenders get forward?

However, we do have more forwards and supposedly attacking midfielders that were bought to and are being paid to get forward and score goals.

I think our biggest problem Saturday was our inability to build sustained pressure on the basis that Wolves dominated the game from midfield.

Another body behind Arnie could be as productive as him having a partner up top in terms of being actually able to create chances for him.

Why do you all think that Arnautovic up front on his own with various different combinations behind him and another defensive player or 2 behind them are going to give us the goals we are not able to score?

----------------------Fabianski

Zabaleta--Balbuena--Diop--Cresswell

------------Rice----Sanchez---Noble

Yarmalenko-------------------------Anderson

----------------------Arnautovic

In times like this you need a guy who will bust a gut, feels the club, and frankly can help pick a pass.

Noble is still our go to for that, amd with Sanchez and Rice to help out on the legs side of things, i still think he brings a rhythm to the team and doesn't hide.

Wilshere should have been a Noble upgrade, but as of now he's been a downgrade.

The loss of Lanzini and Mario is big as of now...players comfortable on the ball and able to receive it, carry it and maintain possession.

Wilshere is a cog in the wheel that is letting us down horribly.

We need to get solid in centre midfield with guys who'll put a grafting shflift in (hence me leaving out Obiang) and then build from there.

Rice, Zabaleta, Noble, Balbuena, Sanchez, Diop, and Arnie seem the guys most likely to roll their sleeves up. We need to augment that with our most likely creative options (Anderson and Yarmalenko and Cresswell) and go from there.

Bench of:

Adrian, Ogbonna, Fredericks, Masuaku, Obiang, Snodgrass, Chicharito

Don't see a role based on form for Wilshere in the current predicament. If we can get some points on along with work ethic and confidence maybe we can start to integrate him then...until then Noble is a better bet.

An even bigger problem is that he doesn't seem to know his best team.

Iron Duke, You’d have though so, unfortunately when you’re not open to exploring other options and your formation is set in stone it somewhat ties your hands .

One thing I do know, for £10m a year there is someone who should know.

Re: What's our best team for the next 3 games ?
Cottee hit the nail on the head on Talksport.

Rice was our best defender by a country mile towards the end of the season.

Fuck his age, get him in there with the other two (who look pretty fucking decent also in my opinion).

We need to stop conceding. I think we have enough attacking threat in Yarmolenko, Anderson and Arnie to cause problems. But it's no good if we're going to have to sciore 2/3 every week to give ourselves a chance of winning a game.

Fabianski
Diop Rice Balbuena
Fredericks Arfur
Sanchez Obiang
Anderson
Yarmolenko
Arnie

Never gonna happen though as we have a mule in charge.

Frederiks--Balbuena----Ogbonna----Cresswell
------------------Rice---------Diop---------------------
----------------------Wilshire---------------------------
Anderson-----------------------------------Masuaku
-------------------------Arnie----------------------------

Only went with Frederiks over Zab due to not having two carthorses pace wise on the right, although if Zab had Frederiks pace I would go Zab every time. I know Diop is a centre back but I've seen little from Obiang, Sanchez or Noble to suggest they are the answer in our weakest position of DM. Yarmolenko doesn't get back, neither does Anderson so I flipped a coin and it's last chance for Wilshire. MP won't go with a 5 so have as others have said gone with his preferred four.
